OPEN HOUSE SAFEL 2015 : Beautiful Night Solidarity
Open house is an event that the students association usually held as their first annual agenda. This year, SAFEL successfully attracts a lot of audiences. In the midst of February, SAFEL also held an Open House. Crowded people with loud sounds and some photos hanged on the front door of the first floor of Student Center on Wednesday, 18th February 2015. With the theme “Beautiful Night Solidarity”, the committee of Open House wished that members of SAFEL can be united and the members will join all SAFEL’s event actively. The event began with the speech from SAFEL’s advisor. Mr. Rachmat Nurcahyo, all of the available chairs were full of the audiences. In this chance, Mr. Rachmat through his speech told that he was so glad to have another great year with SAFEL and this event is the first step of SAFEL 2015 to hold other great events along 2015, so we have to be prepared for any possible problems ahead.
Tsalitsa, one of the event organizer told that the aim of this event are to gather all the members of SAFEL and promote SAFEL proximate events. There were also several performances from acoustic groups and also Safel Dance Club. The acoustic performances were great and could make the audiences sing along together and enjoy the music.The performers are Kaze from Bunder Deutch Studenten and Edsacoustic from English Department Student Association. Another awesome and hot performance was from Safel Dance Club. The main agenda of this event is talkshow from every department in SAFEL. This event were closed by the prayer lead by SAFEL’s president and “potong tumpeng” to celebrate SAFEL’s birthday.
SAFEL previous president, Astika, told that she is happy for the great opening event from SAFEL.She wishes SAFEL could be known not only among the other student organization, but also among Yogyakarta State University and Yogyakarta.

What is Suku Badui Dalam?


            In the Kanekes village Leuwidamar regency, West Java, Indonesia living some Indonesian that called ‘Suku Badui Dalam’. They are living with the old tradition. For man, their cloth called ‘Telekung’ that the material are from ‘Kain Kafan’ and for women their cloth called ‘Kemben’ that the material are  from “Kain Lunas”.
For the language, they are using Sunda Badui language. Suku Badui language is their own language. Some people didn’t understand their language. They also forbid the other people that aren’t suku Badui Dalam to enter their village or even talk with them.
Every day they are farmed with the old method and forbid using technology. They are farmed using mattock, using candle to create light, using wood to create fire and cook, using river to take a bath and using wood also straw to build a house.

They also forbid their child to go to school and even go to outside the village. Anyone who break the rule, they should left the village and forbidden to come back again. Their knowledge are from their Grandmother. They are can’t write, can’t read and even they don’t understand anything about technology.


They haven’t any religion, they believe that their God is Batara Tunggal that according to the legend, Batara Tunggal is their Grandmother. They also believe that Sanghyang Asri is Padi Goddess that should be regarded. When harvest season, they always do traditional ceremony for Sanghyang Asri to say thank you for the harvest and ask her to blessedness and happiness. They would played Angklung (it was like traditional music) and deliver the rice plant to the ‘Huma’. Beside Angklung, Badui Dalam people also give her a poem, traditional poetry and sing a song to show their regard for Sanghyang Asri. They believe that Sanghyang Asri is their Goddes that give them a life, blessedness and happiness.
