WOD (Workshop on Debating)

Workshop on Debating (WOD) is an annual program hold by Public Speaking Department of UKM SAFEL UNY. This workshop aims to increase the debating skill of SAFEL members and other students about the basic skill of debate. WOD was held on 5^th - 6^th April 2014 at 3rd floor of Student and Multicultural Centre, Yogyakarta State University with the theme “Sharp Your Mind through Debate”. More than 50 participants attended WOD this year. 

NNDC

NNDC (National Newbie Debating Championship)

Language is the best way to express all the things in our mind. It is the most important thing to make a communication. We have to master at least English to be able to compete in this globalization era. It is one way to keep in touch with the world. Therefore, SAFEL (Student Activity Forum of Foreign Languages) has an annual program which is named NNDC (National Newbie Debating Championship). It was held on 16^th - 18^th May 2014 at Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University. This debate followed by 16 teams from all around Indonesia. The champion of the 3rd NNDC UNY is Gajah Mada University from team A. The best speaker is Bagus Satrio Diharjo from Polinema. While the 1^st runner up is University of Indonesia, the 2^nd runner up is Gajah Mada University, and the 3^rd is Sanata Dharma University.

Safel Culture Festival

SAFEL CULTURE FESTIVAL 2014

The purpose of this agenda is to know the world through the culture. Culture is the identity of a nation. Safel conducted an international culture festival under the tittle “Entrancing the World with the Beauty of Culture’’ which presented 5 different countries. Those are Amerika, Australia, Japan, Korea, and Germany. Every country has a chance to present their culture, like dancing, singing and other performances. There is also a video culture and traditional food of each country. After that, the agenda was a dialogue (talkshow) between each country speakers and the audiences. 

Safel Culture Festival was held on  April 24th, 2014 at  Auditorium of Yogyakarta State University. In Safel Culture Festival, there is also invited cover dances guest star such as Xshool and Al Beats and Safel Dances Club (SDC). SCF also present bazaar (merchandice, food, drinks, costoume, handmade and accessories).  More than 600 audiences came to life this this festival.
